The Living Lab in Norway focuses on forestry and is equipped with temporary private 5G networks and edge solutions. A 5G-VINNI NEXT node has been developed to provide connectivity to a geographically limited area, in the middle of the forest. A mobile base station on wheels has been implemented, which will offer high capacity, low-latency, and support for mMTC. The latter are all needed requirements for a smart forest, both to provide higher resolution and diversity of data and also to support remote management of forest machinery.
