The COMMECT project was represented at AIOTI Days 2024 in Brussels, where key discussions on the future of IoT, AI, and digital innovation took place. Our consortium members, including Maria Rita Palattella, Srdjan Krčo, and David Pradas, participated in presenting the progress from the COMMECT Living Labs.

The COMMECT consortium gathered for a three-day plenary meeting at the SES Betzdorf Campus in Luxembourg 2-4 September. With 26 attendees representing 16 partner organizations, the meeting focused on advancing key aspects of the project as we enter the final year.

The COMMECT project recently presented its environmental impact assessment research at the LCA FOOD 2024 conference. The event focuses on sustainability and life cycle assessments in the food industry. Every year the conference attracts about 450 participants from all over the world. 

Bård Tronvoll and Gabriel Linton from partner organization CREDS at INN attended "The Forest into the Future" in Kongsvinger, Norway. The conference was hosted by another COMMECT partner, Klosser Innovasjon and Lars Gillund. 

The conference was focused on the future of forestry and how innovation can support the sector’s development. This aligns with the work being done at Living Lab Norway which focuses on connected forestry through digital tools to help manage forests sustainably. 

The COMMECT project participated in VITIS LIVE 2024, held in the Mosel region, Germany. The focus was on innovative agricultural technologies. Hosted at the Institute Viti Vinicole (IVV) tent, our partner Miriam Machwitz from LIST showed tractor-based cameras and drones, tools designed to enhance viticulture practices through precision agriculture.

COMMECT was represented by Per Jonny Nesse at the 30th ICE IEEE Conference in June 2024 where he presented two papers.

Souhaima STIRI presented "Multiple Connectivity Solutions to enable Digital Applications for Viticulture" which highlights the living lab in Luxembourg.

COMMECT held an Executive Board meeting on April 15th - 17th, to monitor the progress of the project, and get prepared for the upcoming project review. The 3-days event was filled with insights, collaboration, and strategic decision-making.

First results and potential innovation were discussed, with the aim of deploying impactful connectivity solutions, tailored to actual end-users' and stakeholders' needs.

Next steps in the project implementation were defined, with focus on the deployment of connectivity solutions in the Living Labs, assesment of their socio-economic and environmental impact, definition and adoption of collaborative #business models.

Telecom Revy is a Norwegian website focusing on the telecommunication industry. On November 4^th, the webzine published a long article about the activities carried out by the COMMECT's Norwegian partners Telenor, Klosser Innovation and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences in the context of the local Living Lab ('Connected Foresty').

The Plenary Meeting of the COMMECT project took place in Oslo (Norway) on 17-19 October 2023 and was excellently held by Telenor.

Three fruitful days full of stimulating presentations, engaging discussions, useful demonstrations in the Living Lab ‘Connected Forestry’ and many ambitious plans for the near future.
