The COMMECT project hosted a webinar on December 12, 2024, focusing on AI-driven tools and drone technology for monitoring pests and diseases in agriculture. The session explored how digital tools can help optimize vineyard and olive grove management, reduce environmental impact, and improve efficiency.

Speakers included:

  • Miriam Machwitz (LIST) – Presented image-based field documentation for detecting diseases in vineyards.
  • Mehmet Hakan (Olive Research Institute) – Introduced AI-powered traps for real-time olive fly monitoring.
  • Mario Gilcher (LSC360) – Showcased digital mapping solutions to support precision agriculture.
