COMMECT Final Project Assembly & Stakeholder Event Drives Innovation in Agriculture
Hosted by Living Lab Türkiye, the COMMECT Final General Assembly and Stakeholder Event brought together project partners, farmers and policymakers to review outcomes, assess impact and celebrate the consortium’s achievements.
A highlight was the unveiling of COMMECT’s AI-powered Decision Support Tool (DST), a digital agronomy assistant accessible via messaging app. Featuring customizable interactions, memory of past exchanges and seamless integration with farm-management systems, the DST delivers personalized, data-driven advice to support sustainable farming decisions. Objectives Achieved
- Extended rural connectivity through 5G private networks, satellite links, UAVs and IoT (LoRa, NB-IoT, RedCap)
- Robust field-data collection and integration for end-user-tailored digital tools
- Collaborative business-model design
- Development and validation of the DST for real-world agricultural needs
- Strong researcher–stakeholder–farmer collaboration
Final Stakeholder Event
Participants visited olive farms to inspect deployed devices—weather stations, sensors and cameras—and experience the DST in action. Feedback from olive growers, advisors and local policymakers confirmed the tool’s readiness to support climate-smart, evidence-based decisions in olive production.
What’s Next
Post-project, the DST will continue to support farming communities, agricultural cooperatives and policy actors—optimizing resource use, enhancing resilience and driving sustainability in agriculture.
