The COMMECT consortium gathered for a three-day plenary meeting at the SES Betzdorf Campus in Luxembourg 2-4 September. With 26 attendees representing 16 partner organizations, the meeting focused on advancing key aspects of the project as we enter the final year.
Over the course of the three days discussions included a range of topics:
- The design and utilization of the Decision-Making Support Tool
- Progress on Connectivity Solutions, including local 5G networks, IoT, and edge computing
- Reviewing the roadmap for the final year, incorporating feedback from the EU review team
A highlight of the meeting was the field trip to our Living Lab in Remich, where the team saw first-hand how advanced IoT sensors, AI, and satellite connectivity are being applied to optimize vineyard management. The team also got to meet local wine growers and Luxembourg’s Minister of Agriculture and Viticulture, Martine Hansen. The day concluded with a wine tasting. Another highlight of the meeting was a guided tour at SES, followed by a social dinner in Luxembourg City.
A special thanks to Maria Rita Palattella for organizing and leading the program. And also a big thanks to to SES Satellites, Christos Politis and Mario Minardi, for hosting us in such an excellent venue.
